How an Angel shark's appearance changes when it yawns

I sometimes feel like I’ve lost my capacity to feel wonder. Cynicism and world-weariness have become my norm. But every once in a while, something sneaks out of the periphery and reminds me what it’s like to be amazed. This little factoid accomplished that today, so I thank you for that.

It’s not about lungs or how advanced the breathing is. Insects don’t yawn because they don’t breath through their mouths. Animals that don’t breath and eat through the same hole move different body parts if they need to get more oxygen. An insect low on oxygen is much more likely to suddenly extend its abdomen

The moray eels also have their second pharyngeal jaw to manipulate prey, which may have also inspired Alien.
