Unless it gets water in it, honey is shelf stable for decades, opened or not. Iā€™m also surprised about tomato sauce, I would have thought the acid in the tomatoes would have kept it longer than 4 days in the fridge. I guess a lot of jarred sauces do have a fair bit of sugar in them.

Honey can last millenniums. Virtually indestructible if stored properly, And I can testify that peanut butter can last a good decade or so (separation may occur).
