If you ask nicely, Steam will refund your money on a game as well. I’m guessing it might have something to do with having purchased hundreds of dollars of games in the past, but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised.
For App Store refunds I’ve noticed that i can get refunds for apps that require immediate payment, however apps that are initially free but you pay to remove ads or whatever cannot be refunded.
The reasoning seems obvious but just thought i’d share my experience.
