The phrase “golden age” seems a bit cliched nowadays, but exoplanet science appears to be moving at a rapid pace. Logically, watching specks of light to see if they’re moving toward, or away, from the viewer makes perfect sense. But the scales of distance, the powers involved! I believe it was 1997 when the first groups of exoplanets were found by scientists like Geoff Marcy and others, and the tally has only grown since then. Amazing stuff.
