My 5-year-old Kindle Paperwhite suddenly bricked itself last month, and no amount of resetting or hard-rebooting would revive it. I’ve been pondering what to replace it with, and so far, it’s either going to be another Paperwhite or a new iPad, which I was going to get anyway.

And somebody else has the capability to monitor what, when and where you read. And the capability to prevent you to read undesired texts on your device.
What’s not to like?
