Hey, a bundle(?) (cord? fistful?) of rails! They don’t look so light to me, though.

Hopefully they’ll actually get used, though. I can imagine them just leaving these here (and streets blocked/torn up, etc.) indefinitely.

Someone here will know what kind of tree this is… I thought maybe it was a dogwood, but those have rounded flower petals and these are pointed. From a distance, the flower almost forms a square.

That’s it – I wondered if it was introduced, since I often see it in people’s yards. But the first place I’d seen one was in undeveloped parkland, near a stream bank – it’s possible, though I’d think unlikely, someone planted it there. (As introduced trees, do they reproduce as readily as, say, catalpa?)
