I’m reading “Rise of the Warrior Cop: The Militarization of America’s Police Forces” by Radley Balko. The writers of the Constitution were adamant that the military not be used in the new country except in extreme circumstances. What has happened since the 1960’s is creeping militarism that has created the current Us vs. Them mentality of U.S. police forces armed for war that the comic references.
