Chubby Checker of course took his nom-de-showbiz as a tribute to or theft from Fats Domino, who had been around for some years and had his own hits, most famously “Blueberry Hill.”

Absolutely loved “The Twist” and the subsequent dance that came out with it. It was the dance that united America in turbulent times. Everybody could do it!
