IRS says it bought in to location database for millions of US cellphones to track tax crime suspects
Let’s see, .01% of 330,000,000 is [dusts off calculator] 33,000. That doesn’t require a very big database.
Even the much-reduced IRS has 75,000 employees.
Go where the high returns are. Assign a personal auditor to each of the superrich.
That’s a very wide net to cast for what’s usually been a relatively small group of wealthy tax evaders targetted by the IRS. This indicates that the focus may be switching to a high-volume, nickel-and-dime business of going after the small fish rather than the whales – right in line with late-stage capitalism in the U.S.
Don’t need that, here’s a starter list - Facebook, Google, Amazon, GM, ConAgra, Monsanto - after all, they’re people too.
With the current group of wealthy pols, I doubt we’ll see the top 1% of individuals or corporations pay their fair share of taxes. This is definitely something for voters to remember in November.

Not fucking likely
It was just a beautiful dream.
This is just a back door for ICE, CPB, USSS, DEA, et al. (the new brown shirts) to get this data. I’m sure they’ll come knocking on the IRS’s (back) door.

Yup, this country sucks. You can’t trust a government that spies on you.
Tax returns should be unnecessary. Just compute my taxes for me and tell me the amount.
That WAS the proposed tax form.
- How much did you make.
- Send it to us.
OTOH, the Rage Mango may be a tax evader, but getting him to pay his just dues will be hard, not the least of which is that he owes lots more than he has. Penalty of champagne tastes on a beer capability.
