Is overpopulation real or legend?

I got a pewter tankard as a Christening present!

Don’t use it much, though. Everything tastes weird out of it.

I have one I carry on my ren fair belt. Cold drinks are nice out of it. IIRC carbonated drinks will eat a bit of the metal away giving a tang. I remember old aluminum cups doing that too.

If it is really old, like 200+ years old it might have lead in it, which isn’t good.

Lead minis switched to pewter in the mid 80’s… It was a PITA to do mods on pewter as the metal is quite hard and brittle.
Of course now with CAD processes being much better and cheaper and mold making for plastic injection getting really detailed everything is plastic or resin for smaller run stuff so making small mods to your toys is even easier than with lead now.

And also with less brain-killing!

maybe. if you were filing them and snorting the dust or sprinking it on your corn flakes sure. most of the time you were just bending or cutting with an xacto blade so the debris was not fine dust so not that big a deal. mind you the pewter allowed for better detail so it was a wash and the plastic or resin is leaps and bounds better so I am happier now.

Do you call Magnox ‘only magnesium’ then? After all it is about 99%
magnesium.
