You know itâs bad when my uneducated analysis was just a small sliver of everything that was fucked up about that whole PowerPoint presentation of his.
There has been a sharp rise in extremist Israeli settlers taking land from Palestinians, analysis shows.
âSettlers.â Not say, âthieves.â
Come on now, BBCâŚ
Same difference. I think these guys kinda were settlers without theft.
This is quite useful in laying out what Israelâs plans are for Gaza. Note how much of Gaza in this is consigned to be a buffer zone (so, a substantial reduction of Gazan territory, in defiance of the Biden administrationâs âredlinesâ). But there is more to watch for.
(Why not both?)
Why the scare quotes around âkilledâ?
In British news headlines, quotation marks indicate a statement made by an individual, although for space reasons it is usually a paraphrase instead of their exact words.
The current headline on the page is
Girl âkilled inside homeâ as Israeli West Bank operation continues
The second paragraph reads:
Lujain Muslehâs father said she was shot in the head as she looked out of a window of her home in Kafr Dan, just outside Jenin, after soldiers surrounded a neighbouring house on Tuesday.
Also because they did not allow the reporter to write âbrutally murderedâ in the headline. Probably
If two Palestinian podcasters entertained the idea of pressing a button and eliminating all Israelis or Jews at once, because of the grave danger they pose to Palestinians, how long, in your estimation, would they be allowed to remain online with their platform intact?
If you are student & call for freedom âfrom the River to the Seaâ, the US Congress will call you genocidal.
If you are the perpetrator of an ongoing genocide & put the word âIsraelâ stretching from the River to the Sea, the US Congress will give you $18 billion in weapons.
