That sounds… dubious. I can absolutely believe there are volunteers joining Israeli forces, but the idea of “hundreds” of European mercs coming in and getting honorary citizenships makes me think of the weird “Israel is just an European colony!” conspiracy theories.

I don’t think that’s a conspiracy theory, it’s much more of a difference of opinion on what the nature of Israel is… you might disagree it’s a European colony, but given that it was founded by large numbers of Europeans, there is some firm footing there for that argument. People did not make up millions of Europeans fleeing persecution and settling in Palestine - that’s an actual thing that happened… so, it’s very much not a conspiracy theory, however much you and others might disagree.

No, that’s obviously true. I was thinking more like the stuff I’ve seen bubbling up in some places, about how Israel is not a real country and it was created and is propped up by evil Europeans and Americans to exploit Middle-East, and so on.
