…
The latter is indeed the correct Peaches song.
Here I was wondering what Peaches song you could possibly get away with at an elementary school talent show. I can’t say I’m not a little disappointed.
Incorrect
… Strolling along minding my own business
Well there goes a girl and a half
She’s got me going up and down
She’s got me going up and down
Walking on the beaches lookin’ at the peaches
Well I got the notion girl that you got some suntan lotion in that bottle of yours
Spread it all over my peelin’ skin baby
That feels real good
All this skirt lappin’ up the sun
Lap me up
Why don’t you come on and
Lap me up
Walking on the beaches looking at the peaches
Well there goes another one just lying down on the sand dunes
I’d better go take a swim and see if I can cool down a little bit
‘Cause you and me woman
We got a lotta things on our minds (you know what I mean)
Walking on the beaches looking at the peaches
Will you just take a look over there (where?) there
Is she tryin’ to get outta that clitares?
Liberation for women
That’s what I preach
Preacher man
Walking on the beaches looking at the peaches
Oh shit
There goes the charabang
Looks like I’m gonna be stuck here the whole summer
Well what a bummer
I can think of a lot worse places to be
Like down in the streets
Or down in the sewer
Or even on the end of a skewer… Down on the beaches, just look at all the peaches
Down on the beaches, just look at all the brown bodies
Down on the beaches, just look at all the sunglasses
Down on the beaches, just look at all the peaches
Down on the beaches, just look at all the peaches
Down on the beaches, just look at all the peaches
Down on the beaches
Mghh… mghh
Mghh… mghh
Mghh
Mghh
Mghh… mghh
Totally elementary school appropriate!
Dating myself but that is where my mind went. But @FSogol, I wasn’t going to say it out loud! Seeing it in print, ugh!
We should get this joint back on track: @Rusty_Blazenhoff , that was a lovely video. His awkwardness at the end while the house came down was very sweet.
There’s a high probability Jack Black appears in this kid’s life for a duet soon.
I dunno - sounds a little “woke”. The conservatives gonna melt down?
Approaching infinity. How could he not?
This was what I thought he had sung! That’s a kids recital I’d like to see.
Seriously. Why am I crying? Great job Cairo!
I saw The Presidents live at Sony’s party for Siggraph in LA - I think it must have been 1997. They were playing on the studio lot, and nearby apartment residents stared complaining about the noise, and the power was pulled halfway through ‘Froggie’ - so they kept going acoustic with the crowd singing at the tops of our voices. Happy days
Also, Cairo fuckin’ rocks!
Whenever I see little kids like this supporting one another and cheering one another on it always does make me misty-eyed. I think it’s because it gives me hope. I see it at my daughter’s school a lot. The kids checking in on each other, making sure the one who looks down is okay, sticking up for one another.
Cairo was awesome and brave and it was lovely that his peers rewarded him for that.
