You need a better browser and/or OS! But seriously Unicode emoji support varies enormously by browser and OS.
(Looks fine on Windows 10, Chrome and also fine on Mobile Safari, iOS)
So why does it work differently in the same browser for the blog and the BBS?
Twitter embeds are replacing the Unicode with images, most likely. We do that too (in post bodies) so you are not at the mercy of your platform’s Unicode font rendering choices – some emoji can look quite different between Android and iOS and Windows.
The stuff of nightmares… They remind me of a monster from the old Outer Limits TV program, that cost me sleep as a kid.
