It makes perfect sense. On one side you have the people who have to travel the world, interview people, fact check, and then collate and analyze data to inform the readers of the truth. On the other you have a glorified RSS feed. Definitely equal amounts of work on both sides.
This is 100% rent seeking to get in their walled garden. I hope it fails. Anything over a 5% cut on Apple’s part is a rip off. I want to see them launch the service and then have zero partners buy in, a completely empty service.

You don’t get to be number 1 (or is it 2) valuable company without taking every chance to make as much money as possible.
