It actually does type… well, it doesn’t put ink on paper, but when you press a key, the hammer strikes the platen and the carriage moves forward and it makes a very satisfying typing sound. It’s actually pretty cool.

Jeepers, for less than half that amount, you can find an actual (already
assembled) typewriter that will last for decades! And put characters on paper! And type
stencils! In two colors!

on ebay:
