Let's put the guilt back in guilty pleasures

I agree with the essay. I still love the term guilty pleasure. Red Planet starring Val Kilmar and CarrieAnn Moss for example. I even read the novelization of the movie, why?

A dichotomy within a spectrum has always influenced my spending habits. For every Interstellar there must be a Starship Troopers, for every The Right Stuff there must be a Top Gun, for every Ace of Spades (Motorhead) there was a 1984 (Vanhalen). Also the cognitive dissonance can wax and wane over time.
