I guess this just goes to show that rape is a crime of hate and anger rather than lust. If a guy who has sex for a living still feels a need to rape women then it’s definitely not about whether or not someone is getting laid.

She had eaten one of Deen’s girl scout cookies.

Its a key example of why victims are assaulted by people they know more often than strangers: It’s much easier for sickos like this to prey on people whose lives or livelihoods are dependent on not fighting back.

“girl scout cookie” is that innuendo for something?

I suspect not.

I’ve always assumed it was more about power/control. Probably why it happens in prison. It’s more of a sign of who’s top dog. It’s most certainly a violent act that has absolutely nothing to do with lust, love or anything remotely similar.

FTFA: [his friends] knew [his interests] and all the sex scenes, where he looked like he was angrily welding.

Not to be pedantic, but are we talking about stick welding, or friction-stir welding?

(Great article, altho it teases with much tongue(?)-in-cheek and innuendo)

Before I pass judgment, I need to know what kind it was.

I tell all my feminist friends that, as much as I take issue with much of their beliefs, I am more wary of any man who claims to be a feminist (a claim Deen has made many times), and they should be too. There’s something so fake about that shit. You can be an “ally” without claiming that word. Men like that always seem like wolves in cheap sheep’s clothing.

Funny, I feel the same way about guys who start comments by telling us how many feminist friends they have.

These comments are a strange response to the article.

Let’s not forget that the author of this piece, Zak Smith, is himself a serial harasser of women and anyone who doesn’t agree with him (and usually over much smaller stakes, like social justice issues in tabletop gaming). Broken clocks, etc.

I didn’t tell you how many.

Assuming that is true, how would that color your perception of the article on Deen?
