“Free speech” and “thought pieces” are the new cover for racism, sexism, transphobia and homophobia.
This reminds me too much of the How to stop rape piece Rhoosh V wrote suggesting that if rape were made legal on private property, it would stop.Because women just aren’t concerned with their own safety, and making their bodies free game would change that. But he wasn’t serious, it was just his version of A modest proposal!

The quote “Every woman I know has a rape or attempted rape story… But on the other side I don’t know a single man who is interested in raping women” as a justification for his position shows how little thought went into this. What a moment’s thought would show is that the most likely explanation is that most women either have been raped or almost raped, either lots of men have raped or some men rape a lot, and men don’t casually admit to crimes that would put them in prison. Or there’s a universal worldwide female conspiracy against men to pretend that rape is a real thing that happens. Occam’s razor…

In the webcomic Gunnerkrigg Court, the sound effect ‘gop’ is used when one of the characters uses her powers to dispel the illusionary creepy spider people that swarm around. Somehow I’ve always felt it appropriate.

And yet he still manages to be a dirt-bag even if his claim to satire is credible. The main reason I think it is satire is because Rhoosh V is the sort of person who would double down instead is walking back any actual pro-rape article he were to write, not because it’s difficult to believe he’s pro-rape.
