I celebrate what they did. It should hopefully shame the government into doing this as they should have in the first place.

Lidl is to Aldi in the same way that Krystal Burger is to White Castle.
Lidl Ireland, to alleviate period poverty, will provide free boxes of tampons and sanitary pads through their Lidl Plus app.
I think they mean to write:
Lidl Ireland will be selling boxes of tampons and sanitary pads that you can pay with your data through their Lidl Plus app.

Ha! Probably! Because bleeding monthly for 35 years is a small price to pay for free tampons…
