I think you’ve just described a substantial chunk of jobs in Austin, TX, at least before it outgrew being a college town. Probably describes other college towns as well.

The wort of least resistance. I kind of want to make a beer purely out of fermented hops, so that I win and more importantly everyone else can stop.

Well, it wasn’t a joke as such. The ad’s wording was apparently an attempt at humour. They still wanted those things.

Rogue has also been noted for years to just have terrible labor practices for everyone, so not surprised by this.

I made almost the same joke on a text, but as a stout and tying in with a Frankenberry Weisse then releasing in the middle of pumpkin beer season as a “Fuck you!”

I’d buy that.

They managed to hit the corporate version of Poe’s Law, ticking all the boxes for terrible IT culture AND terrible “rebel” company culture all in one job posting. No wonder it’s still kicking up ire 4 years later. If there’s actual truth behind the supposed humor, well…
