So this idea that “people don’t want to work anymore” seems to appear in newspapers regularly going back to the 1890’s.
Hmmmm. . . .
Rich guys don’t want to work either, and they typically don’t really have to, their money works for them.
And in truth nobody really wants to “work”-- we’d all rather be doing some ideal job that is satisfying, unstressful, and pays well, something that doesn’t feel like actual “work”-- but who thinks they’ve found their perfect place picking up trash, cleaning toilets, or gutting dead chickens on an assembly line at 3am.
