People seem to forget that suitcases were made from cardboard for a very long time. “Cheap cardboard suitcase” was a staple in the description of WW2 refugees everywhere.

Stunning, but would it operate as an actual suitcase? Or is this a Ceci n’est pas une pipe type situation?
Uhg. That was kind of painful to watch. A possibly sturdy suitcase was made, and much work was put into it. Paper mache over a steel and wire mesh frame. But the result is very meh, especially the non-functional straps, straps that seem like they really ought to be functional.
