The doubly frustrating thing is that all this violence against journalists is in the face of mainstream media speaking less truth to Right power than they ever have before.
Imagine if they actually did their jobs and reported on all the fascism and domestic terrorism in a reality-based way, instead of constantly engaging in false balance, using passive voice for white violence, and calling white terrorists “lone wolves from good families” all the damn time. Imagine how angry these manbaby edgelords would be then.
I look forward to the resulting “both sides” op-ed.

Print media is effectively dead. That doesn’t mean the actual work done by professional journalists is any less critical. (Definitely not a fan of the NYT’s editorial board though.)
I do keep a paid digital subscription to the Washington Post because blogs and social media aren’t a substitute for having actual investigative reporters on the ground.
The best kind of murderer: the one who asks to see his targets, then stands patiently while he’s disarmed instead of doing a murder.
Given the latest political opinions in that paper there’s no telling who he was mad at.
Are we sure this wasn’t a prospective candidate for a political position who actually had an appointment with someone of the editorial staff to talk about the issues he’d be running on?
