I saw this myself too, not with my things but seeing other people’s stuff placed neatly in a visible but safe place
They make great whistles, too!
The only other time I heard of that was when I was in the Boy Scouts. I couldn’t make it whistle!
Last weekend I was walking around during a local festival, and couldn’t resist picking up an acorn cap. It’d been decades since I last tried whistling with one, but after a few minutes I was getting the attention of passersby (especially kids) and even managed a few simple tunes by adjusting my fingers. I showed a few of the younglings how to do it for themselves, too. All those years of flute practice and band camp finally paid off!
Now I feel even further diminished. Sad.
No, young Padawan…practice you must…and remember to laugh at the odd sounds that come out until you get a clear tone
That reminds me; I’m gonna have to pick up James Galway’s latest, “Concerto for Flute and Acorn”.
He could have processed and eaten it.
Or Totoro sneaking in at night for a sugary snack!
