They became The Dads after they got out of high school. AFAIK none of them were actually dads (that they knew of) at the time.
The thing I remember best about them was a concert/party they put on at the family farm. Hay wagons for the stage, big sound system, a bit of lighting, and a party crowd of over two hundred. Lot of fun. And their opening band was another local band who played for free, just for the name exposure. They were The Replacements. And OMG did they rock!
They had to play the first set early because their bassist Tommy was only 14 years old and had to be home by 10:00.
Somewhere in an old shoe box I may still have a cassette I recorded of that show.
Sorry, no tie-in to ears except that show was an early step towards hearing loss for a lot of us.
