It’s definitely a really cool piece of mechanization. Too bad it’s hindered by Windows Speech Recognition. Where you have to speak slower than Stephen Hawking in order to be understood.

There’s an idea - use a vision system with OCR to read handwriting aloud in a synthetic voice and have this mechanism listen and type it out
I’d expect if you’re making a combined TTS+STT system, like Google Now, the first tests you’d do is to make sure that the output speech is intelligible to the speech recognition.
