That is a marvelously chosen cover photo. I welcome @beschizza body horror shoops but as in the Onion’s Ted Cruz attack ad, sometimes the truth is quite enough.
Surely a private army would have to source it’s own ammunition?
Only if that’s what it says in the Terms of Service.
I chose this pic because I thought, “I can shoop it to look horrifying!” but when I had it open in photoshop I just sat there staring at it a while then closed the file.
The man looks like a demon or an Orc.
A dork for short.
Insult to orcs!
Fitting considering that ukrainian slang for russian invaders is orcs.
Ukraine War Jargon:
I’d be curious what they call Prigozhin .
I was going to say, a lot of people are calling Russians “Orcs” now.
Yes this man is terrifying
The more these fascists stab each-other in the back (or use sledgehammers on each-other), the better for all of us.
I sincerely hope the Orc chieftain of the warlord faction gets sloppy in checking for car and package bombs, since the GRU no doubt has several with his name on it.
He’s been saying this for months now.
“I’m gonna take my ball and go home. No, really. This time I mean it.”
We may be witnessing some of the players positioning themselves for the post-Putin era. Sending the Wagner Group against highly-defensible positions in Bakhmut could well have been the establishment’s way of cutting Prigozhin down to size: Wagner reportedly lost a lot of their most highly-trained soldiers during the initial months, before they started rotating out their best people and replacing them with conscripts and convicts. Either Putin – or some of his would-be successors, like Shoigu and Gerasimov – might well have felt that Prigozhin’s private army needed to be scaled back and that this was the way to do it.
Meanwhile, Ramzan Kadyrov is said to be critically ill with liver problems. This may be entirely natural, but there are persistent rumors that Prigozhin might have had him poisoned.
Interesting times …
I was going to send this picture to someone I know with the message “this u?”, but judging by the comments that might be taken as rude.
Btw, let’s take a moment to consider how fucked up it is that some asshole with a private army of felons gets to openly talk like he’s not answerable to the Russian state in what he does with that army. When we talk about regime change, this is probably who we’re talking about.
Who knows, maybe Putin will have to withdraw from Ukraine just so he can afford for this person to accidentally fall out of a series of windows.
After that tirade I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t jump out of a window next week.
Here’s the actual video w subtitles: Russia's Wagner leader threatens to withdraw forces from Bakhmut - YouTube
Well… go ahead, see what happens…
Do people often get rich in Bakhmut? Putin has so many good reasons not to give this guy ammunition!
The implication is clearly that military commanders are making fake purchases of ammo and pocketing the funds. Quite plausible too.
Plus, and probably what annoys him most, some of those people aren’t him.
