Facebook has been formally accused of racial discrimination in a complaint from three Black plaintiffs, one a manager at the social network and two applicants who have repeatedly been rejected by the web giant.
In a complaint filed with America’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Oscar Veneszee, Howard Winns and Jazsmin Smith all claim that the social media giant effectively retains its overwhelmingly white and Asian-American workforce by stressing peer review and “culture fit” as key determinants in deciding whether to hire or promote someone.
To be fair, nobody uses phonebooks anymore.

Facebook on Wednesday published an independent-ish report by civil-rights experts into how it deals with misinformation and hate speech on its platform. The dossier wasn’t exactly flattering, and the antisocial network immediately tried to undercut it with an announcement about how it had banned four groups from its site.
The civil-rights audit was damning [PDF]. It said decisions being made by the social media giant over controversial content remain “too reactive and piecemeal,” and even after two years of auditing work, it still needs “a more coherent and positive plan of action.”
The report lists a series of changes that Facebook has made following significant pressure from civil-rights groups and lawmakers, but then immediately notes that they “could be obscured by the vexing and heartbreaking decisions Facebook has made that represent significant setbacks for civil rights.”

Am I missing something?
I get that NSO wanted to dismiss the lawsuit earlier, because it is bad PR.
But now, why would they comply with the discovery since they are not an usian company and the us courts don’t have jurisdiction over them?
