I assume the bigger issue is that the phone itself is designed to be used in portrait mode.
The person in the video is clearly using the phone with one hand while interacting with the monkey with the other.
In general, it is awkward to use most phones in landscape mode without using both hands, whereas it is easy and obvious on how to use the phone one-handed in portrait mode.
