Mosquitoes love pregnant, beer-drinking exercisers with Type O blood

Hmm, I’m everything in the title except for pregnant (which would make medical history, since I’m an old man). But it’s my type-A wife - none of the above - that’s the skeeter magnet.

Could I hurt a 'lil guy with a face like that? I’m anatomically heartless, not metaphorically heartless here! Just look at those googly eyes and adorable beetle flailings.

Kill it with fire.

I’m O-negative, as well. I never go outside without mosquito repellent and I still get bites!

I’m siding with @fuzzyfungus here
My parents have a small pond and there typically were a few of these in it. I loved watching them. I haven’t seen them for the last few years, but there’s some other smaller species of diving beetle there now.
We also have other large and amazing looking beetles, possibly great capricorn beetles, but the color is a bit different , I posted photo here:

Maybe wife is a magnet but I never really get bothered. Her theory is that she is allergic to the bites and I am not. In effect, we are both getting bit but I just don’t notice. Just a theory, we have no idea if this is true or not.

This is also me, O+.

When I lived in Central America, I wore mosquito repellent every day. During one brutal hangover, while I was not getting out of bed, I counted mosquito bites.

I stopped at 50, all below one knee, because it was fucking demoralizing. Not as bad as the dengue fever, though, that was quite intense and not to be recommended.
