Heh. Iā€™m not going to go off on any major plot points / discrepancies in a public forum. Too many people got burned by ā€œLostā€.

One minor niggle; While getting the tech much closer to right with computer hacking, theyā€™ve BSā€™d the hell out of lock picking.

Thatā€™s hardly a big deal though. I think they really need to watch it in the Chemistry and Psychology departments.

Have you seen S2E1 yet?

Ooh. Have not. For some reason in the back of my head, I thought it started next week.

Nope; itā€™s up now, and I have more questions than ever.

Watch when you can and get back to me, por favor.

Was going to ask if I should binge watch this, but after reading the comments, I have my answer now.

Yes I should.

Well, watched the 2 parter. It didnā€™t advance much. Seemed like a lot of time spent to barely introduce new characters, and barely hinting at future plot lines. Nothing remotely surprising. A couple of possible easter eggs. I donā€™t know. It didnā€™t really feel like a strong start to season 2. I suppose we are to assume Tyrell is in the UK now, from the connect and ring sounds on the phone call at the end. (He could also be dead, and it could be all in Elliotā€™s head, which is the plot device I fear may lead to the shows demise.) Iā€™m sure Gideon being killed is going to kick our new FBI agent character off in some direction as well.

Agreed.

Havenā€™t watched any S02 yet, gonna wait and binge it. Hopefully itā€™ll pick up, huh?

I loved season 1, especially the first half of the season. Am finding season 2 to be very tiresome. I started watching episode 3 today and am not sure I will finish watching it.

The show has transformed into something else, it is no longer a show about socially disconnected hacker, it has become some sort of weird drama with 20 intermingled plot lines all going nowhere fast.

There were a lot of plot lines tangled up in season 1 as well. I liked the third episode of this season more than the long, drawn out, split opener where all it seemed like they were doing was introducing new characters.

Not much of a spoiler unless you didnā€™t watch season 1:

There was a lot of ā€œlook how clever we areā€ Easter egg stuff in the first 2 of this season as well. I donā€™t mind a bit of ā€œnudge nudge, wink winkā€ with he audience, but after leaning too hard on the allusions to ā€œFight Clubā€ in season 1, it really felt like the writers were taking last season success for granted.

Iā€™ve got my fingers crossed, but itā€™s not looking hopeful so far.

Last comment on the show for a bit. As of the 3rd episode (counting the split opener as one) of season 2, Iā€™m getting into the vibe more.

Going to have to add chess as one of the topics that gets completely glossed over. Watching Eliot throw his queen out on the 2nd or 3rd move every time was painful. (Yes Iā€™m commenting on minutia, and now Iā€™m going to give it a rest for awhile.)

The first three episodes of season two were alright, but holy crap four/five/six have been great! I loooved the music design in ep. 4, andā€¦ Well, I wonā€™t spoil anything. It started off slower, but this season is shaping up to be monumental.

Iā€™m hoping so. Also, spoiler: If field techs for the FBI really did piggyback their network on top of a corporationā€™s in the way that allowed Angela to access it from her Ecorp terminal (no segregation), when they set up field offices, Iā€™d be extremely concerned. I do like the arc they are taking with the larger players (China etc.).

There were parts that had huge suspension of disbelief. But they are actually trying, and technology is moving the plot forward in more or less believable ways, even if technology is still the magic lantern that makes cornering global currencies possible.

Iā€™m good with suspension of disbelief in a lot of fiction. I pick on the technicality, solely because the show has named technical accuracy in the CS / hacking realm as a cornerstone. Iā€™m honestly more concerned with the idea theyā€™re going to blow something horribly regarding mental health. Itā€™s been a fun ride so far though.

Iā€™m not certain that weā€™re watching the same show.

O.O

I felt the show went adrift. It might find a good pace again, from what Iā€™ve seen in the last 3 episodes. Care to elaborate on whatā€™s not working? (use spoiler tags of course.)

All things considered had a chat with the showā€™s creator, Sam Esmail, the other day. Itā€™s worth a listen. http://www.npr.org/2016/08/10/489492397/hacking-is-a-bit-of-a-super-power-says-creator-of-mr-robot
