Mysterious famous Japanese actress dies

No worries, tone is very difficult to convey in text  I was just trying to think of a film that was as far removed from the atmosphere of Ozu’s movies while still being cool. I could have gone for “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” but that was noisy and terrible.

The funny thing is that Ozu’s movies aren’t heavy; they’re almost ephemeral and unbearably light – a kind of meditation – and sad, with a profound emotional resonance. They don’t clobber you over the head, they seep into you.

Correct: they don’t clobber you, which was one of the main points of his artistry. Without Ozu’s total control the films would have merely been soap operas.
