In certain mythologies, souls that have led truly evil lives are condemned to be reborn as naked mole rats. The lives of naked mole rats feel to them as horrible and disgusting as the creatures look to us. They are born longing for death. Their 35-year lifespans pass for them as centuries would to us, tormenting them in a body that they loathe. Don’t be evil.
