Nate Silver doesn't like Bernie's chances

If you can vote for a person who has said the things Donald Trump has about many of our fellow human beings, we most certainly stand for different things.

You have heard that there are more than two choices, right?

I refuse to vote for another Clinton or Bush. Period.

I wouldnā€™t vote for Trump anymore than Iā€™d vote for Clinton.

Now heā€™ll tell you that a failure to vote for Clinton is a vote for Trump.

Wait for it.

A failure to vote for the social democrats Clinton is a vote for the Nazis Drumpf.

Why was 98 percent wrong?

Condoms are only successful 98 percent of the time. When they fail do you say that number was wrong?

Actually, the President can get a fair amount of stuff done with or without the help of Congressā€¦ you can see how Obama has somehow managed to normalize relations with Cuba and get a Climate Accord signed in Paris among other things. The question is who would be more effective at using the powers of office to get anything done and the answer to that is clearly Hilary Clinton. Regardless of her agenda, which I think is too conservative to put it mildly, there is little doubt in my mind that Hilary will be absolutely ruthless when it comes to wielding the power of the presidency to push things like her lead cleanup and getting judges nominated. She has had the benefit of experience watching firsthand how her husband and Obama have used the powers of office to forward their agendas in the face of implacable opposition, so there wonā€™t be as much fumbling around trying to figure out how to get shit done that youā€™d get with Sanders.

Also, unlike Sanders, Clinton is very clear on where she stands with the Republicans and likely holds little hope of compromising with Congress, so most of the ā€œtrying to reason with Congressā€ stuff will probably get skipped over as well. Sheā€™s seen firsthand how Obamaā€™s attempts at compromise were ultimately futile and she and hers have been treated like shit by the Repubs since the early 90s, so sheā€™s just going to go to war from Day 1.

Iā€™m also of the firm belief that she will be impeached for abusing her power before the end of her first term if sheā€™s elected, but themā€™s the breaksā€¦ say what you will about Obama, but heā€™s got some serious discipline to maintain order and such a clean reputation that he hasnā€™t been impeached yet. I donā€™t think Hilary will be able to keep her nose as clean, so the second she makes a recess appointment, theyā€™ll be calling for the impeachment proceedings to begin. The question is, will she be impeached before or after 2018?

But sheā€™ll also pus for shitty things like the TPP and more wars, just for starters.

Nope, no vote from me for the plutocratic status quo.

As Susan Sarandon correctly pointed out the other day: maintaining the status quo is not the low-risk option.

The status quo is suicidally catastrophic, and time is running out to fix it.

THIS. Absolutely. And yes itā€™s way more work. Best undertaken with friends and allies. And pie. And coffee. Or tea.

Well, the thread will be closed before Wisconsin polls are tomorrow and we can actually compare a result with this path to victory. I made a google sheet here.

Iā€™m going to update it with actuals as they come in so we can see if Sanders is over and under.

ETA: Wow, do not post a link to a google sheet on a line by itself. The BBS tries to embed a live view of it and goes crazy.
