Near-death experiences while hang gliding

It’s the equivalent of the Jesus nut on a helicopter. If you screw that up, you are likely to have a very bad day. In this case, his hang check didn’t catch it. At least he was by himself and didn’t kill his passenger, as happened a little while ago here in Vancouver.

Yeah, I have a feeling this guy learned “on the fly”, slowly accumulating knowledge and experience ad hoc. I just don’t think the mistake he made would be possible if he had had rigorous instruction and an ingrained “checklist” style safety-check before he takes off, the same way climbers check themselves and each other.
