It does that any time the WordPress scaler encounters a GIF wider than 600 pixels, or at least when the frames are all different sizes.

The image makes me think of Candy Box, previously seen at http://boingboing.net/2013/12/02/five-favorite-free-browser-gam.html .

I’m not chipping in for a “closed alpha”, that’s for sure.
