I met Nancy Wake once. I found her stubborn, dismissive, and uncaring. I mentioned this later to someone who knew her better and she pointed out that we always try to see heroes in a positive light when in reality it was her vices that made her a hero not her virtues. An amazing person and I feel honoured to have met her.
