I used a 3 second pre-roll when editing on an RM-450. The anxiety of hitting the ‘auto-edit’ button… oh my. God help you if you did an assemble edit when you meant to only do a video insert.
Today, true… it is no longer a thing. You set the switcher to play a certain .mp4 file and bring it in when you hit the macro. Don’t have to coordinate with the tape room.
