Just like all communications software eventually becomes email, all devices with embedded computing eventually become DOOM consoles.

Given that Doom has been ported to various mp3 players including (sort of) the first gen iPod…

While it’s impressive that they managed to fit Doom in so small amount of memory, the framerate is surprisingly low. That CPU can run at 280 MHz, and original Doom worked well on 40 Mhz 386 CPU.

Why is the internet obsessed with putting DOOM on every screen it can? DOOM is a fine game, but I’d like to see Myst or something else on some obscure panels already.
