One correction here: It is not the students who are indebted. They are literally underneath the age at which they can legally incur debts. It is the parents who are indebted. It is the parents who did not pay the students’ school lunch debts.
They are literally punishing children for the sins of their parents. Which is evil and despicable, but this is America.

I’m a proud graduate of the high school shown in the featured image: Cherry Hill schools (at least in the early 70s) were exemplary and highly regarded schools.
I’m ashamed to be associated with this current BS, however tenuously.
