Hospitals continue to charge 50 bucks for aspirin because they know that even from the payers, they’re only gonna get reimbursed about 50% from whatever they charge. They’ll never come down to meet what the payers consider reasonable. (The “allowed” amount).
But Walmart is a business so it’s okay that we subsidize them.

That’s as may be, but if the Democrats who wrote and enacted Obamacare were proud and happy with what they’ve done, they would be beating the drums for it like crazy in all their campaign ads.
Instead, the only mention I see of Obamacare is when Republican ads bitch about it.
Until one of them gets sick, gets hit by a car, throws a kidney stone, etc.

A similar thing happened with Bush on his second term and the republicans. Come state election time, all the candidates try to distance themselves from the encumbent.
