I surprised there is no mention of “The Five Obstructions.”

Lars von Trier, a huge fan of the movie, has Leth remake “The Perfect Human” several times with increasingly bizarre creative constraints. During “The Five Obstructions,” Leth seems to come more alive with each remake, despite initial resistance to every constraint.

I don’t know if I’ll watch this movie, but I am certainly into the poster accompanying it.

This reminded me so much of Ze Frank that I decided to google them together. Sure enough, I found a post from 2009 where he claims this is his favorite short film. ze's page :: zefrank.com: two videos

As someone who can get lost with too many creative possibilities The Five Obstructions has always been a favorite and insightful example of the power of “less is more”.
