What’s the last hardware generation you tried VR? Persistence is higher now so the discomfort might’ve been mitigated by now, sometimes local businesses will have test units out for demo purposes. You could try one of the most recent units out for a hot second without having to worry of going through the trouble of buying one.
The article is from 2015 (and referencing events from several years earlier) so things have moved on a bit since, and I’ve also read about the tech being used specifically to treat motion sickness.
