This might be a great post for /r/whatisthisthing on Reddit. That group is amazing at finding the origin of weird and obscure thrift store finds.

Ah, thank you. Might try that.

I have just tried this and, weirdly,

r/whatisthisthing - I found this little guy, about six-inches tall, in a charity shop in the UK. Anyone got a clue as to who he is or what he represents? There was a faded, unreadable sticker on the front, but now the only clue is the ā€œJoin Nowā€ wording on the base.

This may be the image of satan?

I bet the mod thought ā€œeat frazzlesā€ is code for something. Try removing the words

I saved the image as ā€œfrazā€.
Maybe thatā€™s code for something unspeakable.
I donā€™t have the software necessary for image manipulation anymore, nor the room for it, unfortunately.

Thereā€™s one nearby that has until recently been kept up for all seasons and holidays.

Last Valentineā€™s Day was a very creepy Marilyn Monroe with fan operated skirt blower.

Thatā€™s really weird. Sorry about that. :frowning: They must get a lot of problems with spam since itā€™s such a large group so they aggressively moderate as a result.

I did a quick and dirty cleanup for you if you wanted to try again. Iā€™m really curious about this too!

An odd, but definitely wonderful article about the SF MOMA SoapBox Art derby and the amazing trophies made for it (which look like they were made by DALL-E)

This was found while googling around for ā€œjoin now soapbox figurineā€

So, according to one of the reddit mods, they kept bouncing the image because it wasnā€™t in the right topic.
They gave me a list of more suitable places to post so Mr. Mystery is now posted in r/CulturalAnthro.
The place seems sparsely enough populated, so Iā€™m not holding my breath.

ETA: Thanks for the cleanup, this is the image I have reposted.
