"What’s on the menu?

KARMA. Get served what you deserve at Karen’s Diner."

“We pride ourselves on our terrible service, rated 1* by Karen herself! This is dining with a twist - the food is great, the service is ungrateful but your experience will be unforgettable.”

Shit - I like my scotch older than that.

What fine dining establishment, say a Michelin starred restaurant, is going to let kids serve customers fine wine and spirits? Let alone food?

And what 14 yr old is going to be responsible enough to even show up for work? This whole angle the gQp is pushing for child labor is just sooo effing stupid.

To be fair, I can’t say Laphroaig either and I’ve got a bottle of it upstairs :joy:

No, it’s not stupid. It’s a tactic. They keep repeating outrageous stuff, like kids need jobs more than they need school. After hearing it over and over, their supporters start nodding and repeating it. Next thing you know, they’re passing legislation to allow putting kids as young as 12 into factories.

Once the GOP gets them on board with treating their own children this way, how hard is it to convince them of other (and far worse) ideas about workers, compensation, safety, etc? This is how it starts - when people don’t loudly call them out when they make the first outrageous statement and refute it every time they dare to repeat it.

Oh don’t worry, the next thing coming is workhouses! We can just convert schools to dormitories and production floors. It’s not like we’re going to need schools anymore!
