Did you read the article? They know who did it. One of the attendees tapped it with her finger, and it fell over. Everyone in the gallery saw it happen (and in fact, some at first thought that it breaking was itself art). She’s an art collector, so I’m guessing she can afford the cost of the thing.

the sculpture was covered by insurance, so the woman would not have to foot the bill for the damage.

Even so, the insurance company won’t be joyful about it. I’m sure they’ll want to remember which numnuts perched it out where a tap could knock it over.

Not at all. But when are they ever joyful when they got to pay out?

I’m sure whoever was running the event, who probably does lots of these and didn’t expect someone to be stupid enough to go and tap one of the works on display!
