They just want to stop the right people from being unfairly outvoted by the wrong people.

You are of course correct. Ohio actually has a higher rate of black incarceration than the national average.

Testimony was unanimous that gerrymandering for political gain is bad for Ohio voters.

So the good news is that they’re going to fix it. The bad news is that it’s being done behind closed doors.
