On the structure of Rocky movies

A homoerotic run on the beach?

No, that was II.

Itā€™s hard to keep them straight sometimes.

I just think itā€™s great how Rocky says ā€œIā€™ll be back.ā€ in all his movies. Hilarious.

Itā€™s hard to keep them straight sometimes.

Considering the homoeroticism in all of them, I think the directors had the same struggle.

Not sure I can hold a pose long enough for Leroy Neiman to make a hideous painting of us.

Somewhere someone owns that painting. And they display it somewhere prominent. With pride. Without irony. Visitors are brought to see it during house tours. And itā€™s presented like a final flourish, the piece de resistance, the ne plus ultra of their collection.

Mr. Wonder should really stick with his music career and get out of the whole ā€œart collectorā€ thing.

Will this analysis be applied to Grudge Match?

Well, thatā€™s not strictly Rocky canon. And it makes me sad to see those old guys get winded as they wave their fists near each other.

Alan Arkin Iā€™d tune in for though, heā€™s not trying to be an action star. Segal might have wanted to stick to Adam Sandler movies.
