On the structure of Rocky movies

A homoerotic run on the beach?

No, that was II.

It’s hard to keep them straight sometimes.

I just think it’s great how Rocky says ā€œI’ll be back.ā€ in all his movies. Hilarious.

It’s hard to keep them straight sometimes.

Considering the homoeroticism in all of them, I think the directors had the same struggle.

Not sure I can hold a pose long enough for Leroy Neiman to make a hideous painting of us.

Somewhere someone owns that painting. And they display it somewhere prominent. With pride. Without irony. Visitors are brought to see it during house tours. And it’s presented like a final flourish, the piece de resistance, the ne plus ultra of their collection.

Mr. Wonder should really stick with his music career and get out of the whole ā€œart collectorā€ thing.

Will this analysis be applied to Grudge Match?

Well, that’s not strictly Rocky canon. And it makes me sad to see those old guys get winded as they wave their fists near each other.

Alan Arkin I’d tune in for though, he’s not trying to be an action star. Segal might have wanted to stick to Adam Sandler movies.
