I think we are now at end stage capitalism. Unfortunately end stage implies that it will kill the host.


New York, one of the most wealthy cities in the world and this should not be happening. The rich in this town need to pay up, yesterday. Everyone should be sick of this.


The stock market is up… isn’t that the only metric of recovery that matters? /s





Just to be clear, though, because of the weird political structure of the city and odd state laws, NYC can;t actually change its tax laws or rent regulations with approval from Albany, which AFAICT it usually can’t get, in part because of state-level corruption.
